Is Autodesk Build the same thing as PlanGrid?
Largely yes. PlanGrid was acquired by Autodesk in 2018 and its sheet, issue and field workflows were merged with BIM 360 Field into Autodesk Build, launched in 2021 as part of Autodesk Construction Cloud. In 2026 the product help and product pages carry the name Forma Build under Autodesk's Forma brand, but the modules (Sheets, Issues, RFIs, Submittals, Forms, Photos, Schedule, Cost, Assets, Meetings) are the same. Old PlanGrid projects were migrated, and the standalone PlanGrid app is no longer sold.

Microsoft states that HoloLens devices have not been manufactured since December 2024; the final feature release was November 2024 and monthly security updates continue only through December 2027, with a minimum security update period to February 2028 for units bought until February 2025. Under ISO 19650 the field tools are part of the delivery team's working environment and the CDE workflow.
